camden town protests

I was in London when I happened to be watching the news in my hotel room. The local news afterwards were reporting on the protests outside Camden council hall, which I realised was round the corner from me. So I grabbed my camera and headed towards the noise. Another situation that has reminded me to always take my camera with me on trips. They were all protesting against the cuts from the local council and government towards local services. The signs of our new governments change and action towards the counties debt. Monday 28th February.

I found the night setting a challenge to document what was happening. Testing out the extremes of my camera using slow shutter speeds, wide apertures and my iso around 1250.

The demonstration moved from outside the council hall onto Euston road. Blocking off one of the busiest roads in London for more then an hour. Busses and taxis being blocked off with traffic cones etc. A few ambulances were let through by the crowd.

The car below apparently tried to hit some of the crowd so his car was jumped on. There were a fair few problems with the frustrated motorists and clashing protesters.
